What you need to know

Official Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for Magic UI — a small tool surface that queries the live Magic UI registry so AI assistants can generate marquees, blur-fade text animations, grid backgrounds and other Magic UI components.

Install

npx @magicuidesign/cli@latest install <client> # supported: cursor, windsurf, claude, cline, roo-cline
Or add manually: command npx, args ["-y", "@magicuidesign/mcp@latest"]

Usage

  • Ask 'Make a marquee of logos', 'Add a blur fade text animation' or 'Add a grid background'
  • Tools: listRegistryItems, searchRegistryItems, getRegistryItem (with pagination and filters)

Key features

  • Reads directly from the live Magic UI registry instead of hardcoded category buckets
  • Registry browsing, keyword search and per-item detail with install instructions, source and examples
  • Small tool surface to respect client tool-count limits

Best for

Developers using Magic UI components who want AI assistants to generate and integrate registry components.

Caveats

  • Broad semantic categories like widgets/media/devices are not modeled as first-class registry categories
Platforms: WebClients: Cursor · Windsurf · Claude · Cline · Roo-Cline · MCP clients
